The Kingdom Man

godly man

There are many men in this world but not all are kingdom minded. Even a good man is not necessarily considered a kingdom man.

So what are some characteristics of a kingdom man?

Relationship:

First and foremost he has a relationship with God. When Adam was the only human on earth, he received all his commands from God. There wasn’t anything that he did without first having a conversation and approval from God. Adam was about the business of his creator.

Covering:

It could be debated who was at fault for eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Though Adam was quick to blame Eve, God placed the fault on Adam. The reason being is that Adam was supposed to be Eve’s covering. When a man has moved away from the position God has placed him, he risks making his wife and children susceptible to the tricks of the enemy. If Adam had not been distracted, he would have seen the serpent approach his wife and intersected between them so that it would have never reached her.

Faithful:

Whether a kingdom man is married or not, he is called to be faithful in whatever circumstance God has placed him. Take Joseph for instance. It didn’t matter if he was in his father’s house, prison or in the palace, he was faithful in all situations. He was not scared to flee from temptation and he was also faithful to doing his best in whatever job he was given to do.

Leader:

God appointed Moses, a broken man, to lead the people of Israel. In spite of his speech impediment, him being a murderer, or the fact that he would later disobey God, He made him the leader over this group of people. God knew that Moses would accomplish what He set him to do. When Moses doubted himself, God affirmed him. This goes to show that certain qualities may have to be brought out of you by others.

Trustworthy:

A man with integrity is a man that can be trusted. He wants more to remain in the will of God. Anything that would place him outside of it, has no place in his life. Job was a man who was kingdom minded. God knew He could trust him to remain faithful regardless of what he lost or pain he suffered.

God promises that when men seek Him, not only will He enlarge what they already have but He will also protect it against those who seek to devour it. Please don’t confuse this with God wanting men to be perfect but wanting them to submit to His perfect order.

He knows that you have and will continue to make mistakes. However, as a kingdom man, it is your job to bring your failures to God? Do you confess that you messed up and vow to turn away from doing it again? Or do you move forward as if nothing happened and hope God will follow suit? All of these characteristics are some of what separates a man from a kingdom man.

Men, choose this day who you will be in this world.

If you haven’t done so already, make the choice to pursue God and watch Him make you into the man you never imagined you’d become.

In Relentless Pursuit,

Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. For I will drive out and dispossess nations before you and enlarge your borders; nor shall any man covet (actively seek for himself) your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times a year.” – Exodus 34:23-24 AMP
