Take Advantage Of This Time

Keeping in the stride with my latest posts, 2020 has revealed a lot. Like many of you, I have had an abundant amount of time at home this year. It’s been more time than I’ve ever had in my adult life. This pandemic has definitely caused me to see that we all need to take advantage of this time we have been given here on earth.

Seasons

Although there were many things that I did or didn’t do this year with my time, the main thing I took advantage of is self-care. Now when we think of self-care, one of the first things we think of is pampering ourselves in some fashion. I now look at it as being more than just paying attention to the outside of myself but digging deeper into the internal parts of me.

This year has been tough on so many people for one reason or another. Although it’s been a pretty good year for me, I’ve had to deal with certain things that began to rise to the surface. With so much time at home, I had no choice but to deal with what I didn’t realize needed attention. Not just things in my present but from years ago.

What Season Are You In?

Maybe it was brought to your attention that you need to take advantage of this time by enjoying the season of life you are in. Ecclesiastes 31:1-8 states:

seasons of life

We all have seasons in which we go through. It’s not so important as to what season we are in than it is how we are taking advantage of this time.

If we haven’t learned anything else from this year, the main thing we should have learned is that nothing is promised. Just things like hugging your loved ones, going outside without concern, and just regular human interaction have all become a delicacy.

That’s why it’s so important that we take advantage of this time we have.

For the younger newly married starting a familycouple, society and family may try to rush you to have children. As long as that is a part of God’s plan, you have plenty of time to start a family. Take advantage of this time not having children and enjoy each other. Trust me, once kids come into the picture, your life is no longer your own but controlled by the cutest, tiniest, and helpless little individuals.

For those who have never been married or are single again after a divorce, take advantage of this time. You have complete control over what you do and when you do it. There is no one you need to consult with before making a decision.

enjoy being single

Most importantly, there is no one that you have to divide the time you spend with God. Use this time to get closer to Him, serve others, and positioning yourself for divine opportunities.

Take Advantage of This Time

In a blink of an eye, those tiny human beings that enjoy your childrenonce counted on you to do everything for them will grow up and need you less and less. Take advantage of this time while they are babies, toddlers, young children, or even teenagers. Enjoy changing diapers. Cherish the cuddles, and be present for conversations about their friends. Even make time to do a TikTok or two (they’re actually fun). Each season is special in its own way.

On the other hand, if this pandemic has unfortunately caused you to be unemployed or given you more time because you are working from home, use this plan your lifetime to start planning. Plan out your finances and begin saving. Look into possibly changing your career, turning that hobby into a business, or creating several streams of income.

How Can This Be Done?

We don’t have to try hard to find excuses not to progress in life. There are so many things that can easily distract us from whatever task is at hand. It is up to us to take the time that we have been granted and max it out to the fullest.

Philippians 4:13 reminds us that when Christ is backing us, there isn’t anything we can’t do. Instead of focusing on what all has gone wrong this year, take these last days to get a new vision. A new year awaits us all, so why not go into it with a renewed mind and determination to be successful in whatever season we are in life.

God created

God didn’t create us to take up space in this world. We were created to do good works, multiply, and rule over it. None of this can be done unless you are willing to take advantage of your current season.

So start today and no longer allow time to slip through your hands without making an imprint on this earth. It’s your season, now make the most of it.

In Relentless Pursuit,

Brandi Michelle
